Under the direction of the Government of India, a Yuva Manthan Model United Nations was organized at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University in Delhi. The event comprised two segments: A meeting of COP29 representatives on 2 April and AIPPM on 8 April 2024 respectively.
In COP 29, a total of 35 diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate students from 13 departments of the university enthusiastically participated in the event and
adeptly portrayed the roles assigned to them. On 8th April roughly 30 students representing 24 different states participated in AIPPM.
It is a matter of great pride that during COP 29 students gave their speeches/question-answers/ discussions etc. in international languages like French, English, German, Mandarin, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Bangla, Tamil, Hindi etc.
During the All India Political Party Meet, students represented Indian states ranging from Assam, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Maharashtra etc. and the medium of communication was Hindi and English.
Additionally, a team of young faculty members (from different departments) lead by Aditya Pancholi as coordinator and Sumita Tripathi as coordinator significantly contributed to the success of the event.
On both the days, the events were inaugurated by Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Murli Manohar Pathak, Registrar Sh. Santosh Kumar Srivastava and Dean Prof. Shiv Shankar Mishra. Notable dignitaries such as Prof. Jai Kant Singh Sharma, A.S. Aravamudan, Prof. Devi Prasad Tripathi, Prof Sangeeta Khanna, Prof. Kalpana Jain, Prof Adesh Kumar, Prof. Jagdev Sharma and Controller of Examination Dr. Tarkeshwar Nath Giri were present and congratulated the participants and team members.
