Ever since the inception of the university, research & publication were the strong points of the university. The publication work by the Vidyapeetha was started in 1964 and till the date 83 titles have been published and well received by the scholars.

The department has been established to perform a very important function of planning, monitoring and enriching the research work of the research scholars & faculty members of various departments of the Vidyapeetha. Accordingly, its activities are broadly centred on compiling, publishing and disseminating scholarly contribution and original books which have potential for adding to the fresh interpretation of knowledge relating to the oriental and modern contextualities. An important area of concern of the department is, therefore, to systematically promote the publication of the research findings in various disciplines and bring a dimension of propagating collaboration on the stock of knowledge already available through ongoing researches.

Activities of the Research & Publication Department

  • The department organizes training programme in research methodology to impart the knowledge among the research student and to impart the knowledge of Shastras of different subjects, the Vidyapeetha maintains a very high level of teaching which is well supported by the experts in the different fields. The Vidyapeetha is instrumental in connecting the modern youth with the old Indian tradition and shastras.
  • As per the guidelines of UGC regarding M.Phil, Ph.D. circular 2009, the department organizes one semester course work for six months for all of the Ph.D. students in which lectures are arranged on the topic of research methodology & manuscriptology, survey of researches and computer application. This course work is compulsory for all Ph.D. students.
  • To achieve academic excellence in research, the department of Research and Publication has introduced pre-entrance test for Ph.D. programme. The subjects for Ph.D. Registration are chosen considering the important areas of a particular discipline. This system has made great impact and has raised the quality of research.
  • Pre-Ph.D. Seminars are arranged before the submission of the thesis which will be conducted in the presence of the faculty members of the concerned subject.
  • The Department has re-printed some of its major publications which were in high demand and were out of print. Some new publications were also undertaken and now they are available in the market. The Vidyapeetha has been continuously publishing its own Panchang since 1984 which has been well received in the market.
  • The publication wing has the full responsibility of bringing out the Vidyapeetha’s Research Journals Shodh Prabha. The journal contains learned research articles information about ancient unpublished manuscripts, reviews of new publications and special lectures delivered. This is very regularly brought out as a quarterly research journal.
  • The department continuously organizes workshops for imparting knowledge regarding research methodology to the research students of the Vidyapeetha and eminent scholars deliver the lectures for the benefit of the students.
  • Organizes open discussions and debates for better interaction with the students.
  • The department continuously participates in a number of book fairs arranged from time to time.
