The Vidyapeetha is engaged in the continuous service of Sanskrit in the Capital City of India since 1964 and apart from imparting Sanskrit teachings, education, studies and research activities, it is also engaged in the publication of various standard granthas relating to different branches of sanskrit literatures and granthas containing rare, original and research oriented thinking. The Vidyapeetha is continuously contributing for the cause of promotion and propagation of Sanskrit language since its inception. Vidyapeetha has also conduced tremendously for the growth of Sanskrit literature.
Govt. of India recognised the Vidyapeetha as a Research Institute in the year 1965-66. It started its publication work from this very year. Under the first publication series Prameya-Parijata and Purana Parijata written by M.M. Shri Giridhar Sharma Chaturvedi were published in collaboration with Govt. of India. Cultural and literary importance of Puranas has been explicitly depicted in a very lucid manner by the author in these books. Besides, a book titled Vaidika Vigyan was also published in Hindi and English languages which is a collection of seven lectures delivered by Shri Chaturvedi in 1964. These three books were presented to the then Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on 7th August 1965.
