The implement the reservation policy for SC/ST
in the Vidyapeetha
To collect data regarding the implemention of
the policies in respect of admission, appointments to teaching and non-teaching
position in the Vidyapeetha
To take such follow up measures for achieving
the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the Govt. of
To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously
the reservation policy in the Vidyapeetha and plan measures for insuring the
effective implementation of the policy and programmes of the Govt. of India
Main Function of the Cell
To circulate Govt. of India & Commission's
decisions and to collect regularly on annual basis information, regularly
course-wise admission to candidates belonging to SC/St category in the
Vidyapeetha in the form prescribed by a stipulated date and to take follow up
action where required.
To collect reports and informations regarding
the Govt. of India's orders on the various aspects of education, training and
employment of SC/ST candidates for evolving or modifying existing policy by the
To circulate Govt. of India's orders and
Commission's decisions and to collect information in
respect of appointment, training of these communities in teaching and
non-teaching posts in the Vidyapeetha.
To analyze the information collected and
prepared reports and digests for onward transmission to the Ministry of HRD and
UGC and such other authorise as may be required.
To deal with presentation received from SC/ST
candidates regarding their admission, recruitment, promotion and other similar
matters in the Vidyapeetha
To monitor the working of the remedial coaching
scheme if any in the Vidyapeetha.
To function as a Grievance Redressal Cell for
grievance of SC/ST students and employees in the Vidyapeetha and render them
necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
To maintain a register for employment of SC/ST
in the Vidyapeetha for the cadidates belonging to SC/ST category for various
posts in the Vidyapeetha.
And other work assigned from time to time to
promote higher education among these two communities suffering economy, social
and education deprivation.
The Vidyapeetha has been imparting eduction in
traditional Sanskrit Course through Sanskrit Medium to the students. Out of the
existing courses, Shiksha Shastri (BA) is the only professional course, while
all other Shastri and Acharya courses fall under traditional category.
A good number of students from SC/ST category
seek admission to Shiksha Shastri course while the number of applicants from
this category, seeking admission to other traditional courses is quite less.

We do not get enough response from SC/St Candidates for the teaching posts fro traditional courses, despite our best efforts. The Vidyapeetha has been putting in efforts continuously to fill up this backlog. The present position of teaching and non-teaching posts is as under.
Special Cell for SCs/Sts
The Vidyapeetha is having so many faculties and
departments. At present the Vidyapeetha have 104 teaching and 119 non-teaching.
During every academic session about one thousand students enrolled in various
process. The Vidyapeetha is governed by the UGC and as per the Govt. of India's
guidelines follow the policy of reservation in respect of recruitment and
admission. The Vidyapeetha is providing reservation to SCs/STs candidate in
admission in all courses. No only this, reservations are also available to
SCs/STs candidate for grant of scholarship and allotment of staff
quarters/students' hostels. The reservation policy for appointment and
promotion. of Govt. of India has been implemented in the Vidyapeetha. To ensure
the effective implementation of the Reservation Policy in admission,
recruitment allotment of staff quarter, hostels etc. in the Vidyapeetha and in
order to streamlines of the directives of the Govt. of India/U.G.C, the
Vidyapeetha submitted its proposal to the UGC for creation a SC/ST Cell which
has been sanctioned vide UGC F.9-13/2004(SCT) dated 30.12.2004.
